The Hidden Crisis in the Neon Desert
The animal crisis in Las Vegas is quiet, but it is constant. Local specialty shops field multiple surrender calls every single day. When shops and rescues are full, we lose sleep wondering where those animals go. Too often, they are abandoned in the Mojave Desert—a guaranteed death sentence for tropical species that cannot survive the harsh climate.
Our mission to change this is personal. It started with Aziraphale, a subadult Blue-Eyed Leucistic Ball Python who needed a second chance. He turned out to be an absolute love bug—though we suspect his sweetness comes from a distinct lack of brain cells! Aziraphale proved to us that these misunderstood animals have distinct personalities and deserve safety, dignity, and warmth.
For the last three years, we have operated entirely out of our home, stacking custom enclosures floor-to-ceiling and pouring our own salaries into veterinary care. We have rehabilitated as many as we could, but we have finally hit a heartbreaking wall: we have physically run out of space.
Looking Forward: Sanctuary & Education
We are done saying "no" to animals in need. We are currently finalizing our federal nonprofit registration and actively fundraising to secure a commercial facility. This building will serve as a permanent safe haven for Las Vegas reptiles, but our vision doesn't stop there.
A core pillar of our future operations includes developing interactive educational programs for local schools and community groups. We want to teach the next generation about native Mojave Desert conservation, the responsibilities of exotic pet ownership, and the science behind proper husbandry and bioactive environments.
Your support helps us bridge the gap from a cramped living room to a true community sanctuary, ensuring that no animal is ever left behind.
